Fox Lake man rescued after his snowmobile falls through ice

FOX LAKE, Ill. -- A man is lucky to be alive after his snowmobile fell through the ice.

A nearby woman spotted the man and called the Fox Lake Fire Department, who sent out to rescuers to save the man from the freezing water, Tom Preidis, Fox Lake Battalion Chief, said.

The man was in an area of water that wasn't very shallow, only six foot deep, and was standing on his snow mobile when he was rescued.
