Former Aurora priest charged with sexual assault

AURORA, Ill. — A former assistant priest at two churches in Aurora has been arrested at his home in Rockford and charged with sexually assaulting a child under age 13.

The charges were filed in Kane County against Rev. Alfredo Pedraza.

He was suspended from the ministry in 2014 when the allegations first surfaced Before his most recent position, Pedraza assisted at Aurora’s Sacred Heart parish and Our Lady of Good Counsel parish.
