CHICAGO - The Blackhawks know what it takes to win a Stanley Cup. They've done it three times in the past six years. One of the key ingredients to their championship recipe - staying fresh for the playoff push.
January was a busy month for the Hawks. They played 14 games in 24 days, amassing an 11-3 record. With such a hectic schedule, Coach Quenneville cut back on off-day practices, opting instead for game day morning skates.
But in the eight days since the All-Star break ended, the Blackhawks have already practiced three times. It's not much of surprise for the veterans on the team. They know playoff hockey is just around the corner.
