Man shot outside Zion bowling alley

ZION, Ill. — A man was injured in a shooting outside of a bowling alley in unincorporated Zion early Sunday.

At about 1:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to Pinsters Bowling Alley, 1646 Sheridan Road, for a report of a person with a gun. When they arrived, they learned shots had been fired and several hundred people were fleeing the bowling alley.

One man was shot in the leg and head. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Preliminary investigation revealed the shooting was likely gang related, following a dispute between rival gang members.

So far, no arrests have been made.
