CHICAGO - Shots were fired on the outbound Eisenhower Expressway near the Circle Interchange.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg overnight while riding in a vehicle with two friends on the expressway.

The car was heading westbound on I-290 near Racine, when the shots were fired.

Tamika Loyd, the driver's mom, said there's too much gun violence in the city, but she said her son and friends will be okay.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is being treated.

Police shut down the  westbound lanes and the I-94 on-ramps were closed from Congress to Racine, but they're back open now.
