Chicago’s top cop to remain in hospital

CHICAGO — Former Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy is reportedly one of the top candidates to head the London Metropolitan Police.

McCarthy was fired by Mayor Rahm Emanuel amid the controversy over the fatal police shooting of Laquan McDonald.

Now, he’s among several current and former police officials under consideration to take the helm in London.

In an interview with the UK’s The Sun newspaper, McCarthy said he would use U.S.-style zero tolerance methods to cut crime in London.
