GARY, Ind. -- Two teenagers were found shot to death inside a car in northwest Indiana.

Gary police were patrolling the 800 block of Burr Street just before 9 p.m. Friday, when the car was found with its driver's side door open.

Two males were dead inside.

One victim was 15-year-old Mark Skipper, a sophomore at Morton High School in Hammond, Indiana.

Family, friends and coaches – too distraught to speak on camera – say he was a bright boy with a positive attitude.

He was the football team’s starting quarterback and a pitcher on the baseball team.

The family has set up a Go Fund Me page, in a statement they say, “he was an active, outgoing young man with a bright future ahead of him. The family needs help taking care of funeral costs.”

the other victim was 16-year-old Kasreeyal Hester, who lived on the block where the car was discovered.

His family declined to comment.

But someone placed a bouquet of flowers in front of their home near the scene of the shooting

Investigators towed the car, to comb it for clues, as gary residents agonized over another senseless killing.
