Car strikes pedestrian in Bridgeview

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. –  A man was critically injured after being hit by a car in Southwest suburban Bridgeview overnight.

It happened at about midnight near the intersection of South 84th Place and South Harlem Avenue.

Witnesses say two people were walking across the street when one of them was hit by a car and got stuck in the windshield.

The witnesses tried to help the man and called 911.   Emergency crews had to work delicately to remove the man from the windshield.

Bridgeview Fire Department Battalion Chief Richard Brown says the man was still breathing when he was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

His condition is unknown.

The accident is under investigation.  No word on charges.
