CHICAGO — Governor Rauner will announce a plan later today to add new lanes on the Stevenson Expressway.

The plan would add at least one express lane in each direction on the Stevenson between I-355 and the Dan Ryan.

But you would have to pay a toll for the convenience.

The governor’s proposal would be a partnership between the state and a private firm.

If it’s approved — construction could start next year and be complete by 2019.
