CHICAGO --The latest celebrity must-have isn't a bag or a shoe, it comes from right here in Chicago -- a cookie by Misericordia.

The non-profit gives people with Down syndrome and special needs opportunities, including jobs at the the charity's Hearts & Flower Bakery.

Among some of the famous people to get their hands on the cookie include the Cubs, Tom Hanks, Snoop Dogg, David Schwimmer and WGN's very own Tom Skilling.

The idea for the celebrity campaign started a few years ago by volunteer publicist Paula Conrad, who used her other job at ComEd, where she often meets celebrities at media events.

She told them about the cause and asked to take photos with the cookies.

Soon the pictures went viral and is helping to generate revenue and publicity for the non-for-profit.

The bakery offers many more baked goods including coffee, cakes, breads and pastries.

If you want to stop in and eat a cookie like a celebrity, you can go to:

Hearts & Flour Bakery
6300 N. Ridge Avenue
Chicago

The bakery also delivers all across the country. You can order online and learn more about Misericordia on their website::
