CHICAGO -- Chicago police are looking for answers in the death of a 76-year-old man who was found shot to death in his Far South Side home.

Claude Cannon was found dead in the basement of his home near 132nd Street and Riverdale Avenue about noon Tuesday.

They say he was shot several times.

Neighbors say they heard several gunshots from the home Monday night.

Cannon lived at the home with his brother Darrell, who was one of former police commander Jon Burge's victims and served more than 20 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit.

He recently settled with the city.

Darrell Cannon says he came home late Monday night and didn't see his brother's body in the basement until the next day.

He says it doesn't look like anything was stolen from his house.
