CHICAGO -- There's been a significant drop in crime on the CTA.

In 2015, crime dropped by 25 percent on CTA buses, trains, platforms and parking garages.

The most dramatic decreases were in the categories of robbery and theft.

At a news conference this morning, Mayor Emanuel said security cameras played a part in the drop in crime.

Last year, 256 people were arrested as a result of images captured on security cameras.

That's an eight percent increase from last year.
