Man injured in shooting on I-57 in Chicago

CHICAGO – The Illinois State Police is investigating an overnight shooting on Interstate 57.
It happened at about 3 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-57 near South 111th Street on the South Side of Chicago.
Police say a car pulled up next to the victim’s car and fired six shots into the car.

A man sitting in the back seat was shot in the leg.
He was driven to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police are looking for the shooter.

State Police shut down the northbound lanes of I-57 to look for bullet casings.

All lanes of I-57 were reopened before 6 a.m.
