BEACH PARK, Ill. -- Nine elementary students were hospitalized after a school bus filled with students collided with two semi-trucks Wednesday afternoon.

Their injuries are not life-threatening, authorities said.

The crash happened about 3 p.m. near Green Bay Road and Major Road in Beach Park, Illinois. The bus was heading north on Green Bay Road when it was rear-ended by one of the trucks and pushed into the other.

Fifty-two students were on board the bus.

A spokesman for the Lake County Sheriff's Department says the bus was stopped when it was rear-ended.

None of the drivers were injured. Authorities say they're still trying to determine whether any of the drivers should be cited for the incident.
