CHICAGO -- A white Porsche reportedly registered to former Bears linebacker Lance Briggs crashed into the “Elite Bartending School” on Irving Park just west of Cicero in Chicago’s Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest side.

The accident happened at around 5:40 a.m.

Police say they were called to the scene of the accident, but when they arrived, the car and the driver were nowhere to be found.

Chicago police are not saying if Briggs was behind the wheel or not.

The entertainment website TMZ report that the car was owned by Briggs.

The 35-year-old former Bears star responded on Twitter, writing: “feel free to report the facts anytime! I ubered home, but why report the truth when a lie is more interesting.”

In August of 2007, Briggs was charged with crashing his $350,000 Lamborghini on the Edens expressway in Northbrook – and leaving the scene of the accident.

Briggs was sentenced to a year of court supervision and more than 100 hours of community service.
