Metra SouthWest Service train hits vehicle in Hometown; driver injured

HOMETOWN, Ill. -- A driver is injured after a Metra SouthWest Service train hit her vehicle in Hometown.

The accident happened around 7:25 a.m. Wednesday when Metra SWS train 808 struck the woman's SUV near 87th and Pulaski.

Hometown police confirm the driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

No one else was injured.

Paramedics and police are on the scene.

Metra reports that SouthWest Service trains are back on the move.
