1-year-old found safe after car stolen with child inside

CICERO, Ill. — A 1-year-old is safe after a car was stolen with the child still inside.

The carjacking happened around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Cicero.

The mother was dropping off one of her children at Liberty School, 4946 W 13th St, and left the car running while she quickly ran in with her daughter.

She had double-parked with the 1-year-old strapped into the back seat.

Cicero police found the Dodge Durango in the 2000 block of Kildare Street in Chicago, with the engine still running and the1-year-old back seat.

Police are searching for the suspect.
