CHICAGO - Navy Pier will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Crews will begin bringing in the new Ferris wheel.
The old wheel came down in October.
New pieces arrived from Europe last week.
Most of the construction is schedule for Tuesday, the 19th.
Crews will assemble the wheel's six legs before attaching the 104-foot-high center hub.
The new wheel will be 50 feet higher than the old wheel, standing nearly 200-feet tall.
It's expected to be completed by summer for Navy Pier's 100th anniversary.
The new wheel will operate year-round with enclosed, temperature-controlled gondolas.
