CHICAGO — PETA says it’s okay to wear fur – if you’re homeless.

The animal rights group handed out more than 100 fur coats Thursday to women staying at the Matthew House homeless shelter on the South Side.

PETA says the fur coats were donated by people who have decided to give up wearing fur.

The organization is handing out old fur coats to homeless in other U.S. cities this winter.
