Two charged in deadly shooting of teen

CHICAGO –  Two men are charged with killing a 17-year-old boy on the Southwest Side.

Sergio Gonzalez and Jose Juarez, both 20, are charged with first degree murder in Thursday night’s shooting.
The teen was gunned down in the1300 hundred block of West 41st Place  at 10:25 p.m. January 7th.
Police chased Gonzalez and Juarez before they crashed their vehicle in the 3200 block of South Oakley Avenue and got out and ran. News Affairs says at least of the suspects had a gun when they were arrested.

In addition to the murder charge, Juarez has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a street gang member.

Gonzalez, of the 3300 block of South Oakley Avenue, and Juarez, of suburban North Riverside, are expected to appear in court Sunday.
