CHICAGO – A man is in stable condition after someone stabbed him with a box cutter at the Jackson Red Line station.

It happened just after 10 p.m. Saturday.  Police said the man was standing on the platform where he got into a fight with two other men and a woman.

One of the men used the box cutter to stab the victim in the neck.

The Chicago Tribune reports police had to stand in a circle around blood on the platform to keep passengers from stepping in it.

The 37-year-old victim was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, the Tribune reported.
