CHICAGO – The Chicago Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a 12-year-old girl who went missing from the city’s Southwest Side on Friday.

According to police, Stephany Portes was last seen in the 3800 block of West 55th Place in the city’s West Elsdon neighborhood. She is believed to be wearing a blue or black hooded sweater, blue jeans and brown boots. She may also be wearing black plastic framed glasses.

Police said Portes is known to frequent the areas of West Chicago, Villa Park and Oak Brook.

Portes is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 2 inches tall with a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes. She weighs about 160 pounds, police said.
