LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A vacation on a cruise ship turned into a horrifying experience for passengers. It happened aboard the Carnival Ecstasy just after Christmas.

Passenger Matt Davis took a video after he saw blood pouring down some elevator doors. The doors struggled to open and close.

Employees tried to get people away.

“To look and see the elevator with just blood coming down like a sheet, and not stopping … it was a real life scene of ‘The Shining,’” Davis told WFTX, referring to the 1980 horror movie.

It turns out an electrician was working on the elevator when he was killed.

Carnival confirmed the worker died Sunday night.

The cause is under investigation.
