NEW YORK, NY — A Moroccan teenager with a life-threatening facial growth dreamed of coming to the U.S. for surgery.
His family could not afford it, but now, his dream has come true.
18-year-old, Zoubir Lahdodi presented his new face at a press conference in New York Monday.
It was the result of seven major surgeries over the past eight months at Lenox Hill Hospital.
The doctors also gave Zoubir a new bicycle and helmet to use when he returns home to Casablanca.
Zoubir had what’s called a venous malformation. The facial growth was filled with abnormal blood vessels.
Any trauma before the surgeries could have caused him to bleed to death.
