RICHTON PARK, Ill. – Have you ever loved something so much, you just had to share?

For 8-year-old Jocilyn Martin Richardson, that something is all over the house. On the dresser.  Under the bed. Even in the bathroom.

It's a life long love that took an inspired turn, because under the Christmas tree right now are barbies.  Lots of them. . . .For other little girls.

Her mom Kelly was drafted two weeks ago by an idea that began in school. Jocilyn wanted to change the law: Every little girl should have a Barbie.

The idea took off: Donated barbies. Donated money to buy barbies. Giving them away in some of Chicago's poorest neighborhoods.

People can send donations through PayPal by using Martin’s email address:

They can also email to find out how they can drop off a Barbie or mail one.

Jocilyn will be accepting donations Wednesday Dec. 23rd at:

University Church

5655 S. University Drive, Chicago

5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
