CHICAGO — Enhanced video could be released today of the police shooting of a black man last year.

An attorney for the family of Alfontish Cockerham says he will release the new video later today.

Cockerham was shot in June of last year by a Chicago police officer.

Video released over the weekend showed Cockerham looking over his shoulder, then running out of the frame followed by the officer.

Later, he is seen lying on the street with his hands up, after being shot.

The 23-year-old man died several days later.

His family is planning to file a lawsuit this week.

The Independent Police Review Authority is still investigating this case.
