A British man who wrote a letter to Santa seven decades ago just received the very presents he asked for as a young boy.

David Haylock, 78, wrote out his Christmas list back in 1943 and tucked it into the chimney of his family home. Last week, a group of construction workers found the letter as they were renovating the house.

They were able to track Haylock down, thanks to some neighbors and social media. But the construction workers did more than simply return the note -- they also brought him toy soldiers, a pencil box, chalk, slippers and even a silk tie. Those are the things Haylock had asked Santa for all those years ago!
