Teachers strike vote results expected today

CHICAGO – The results are expected today from last week’s Chicago Teachers Union strike vote.

State law says 75 percent of the 27,000 union members must agree to a strike. Even then any walkout could be months away.

The school system and union seemed close to a one-year deal in June, but talks broke down over the teacher evaluation system.
