CHICAGO – A 19-year-old Evanston, Ill., man has been charged in connection with a shooting that took place in Wrigleyville over the weekend.

According to police, Ralph Banks, 19, of the 2000 block of W. Darrow in Evanston, was charged Monday with one felony count of aggravated discharge of a firearm. Police say Banks was one of the shooters involved in a police-involve shooting near the 1100 block of W. Patterson Ave. at around 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Banks was pursued by responding officers and was arrested without incident, according to police.

Police said Sunday more than 30 — and as many as 50 — shots were fired between a group of people walking near Racine and Patterson and another group of people in a passing car Sunday morning.
