Body found near forest preserve in Harvey

HARVEY, Ill. – Authorities in south suburban Harvey, Ill., are investigating a homicide after a man was found unresponsive Saturday afternoon.

According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, someone called police at about 2 p.m. Saturday after he saw an unresponsive man near the road at 141st and Thornton. The victim had been shot multiple times.

The victim,  a 30-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are waiting to notify next of kin before releasing his identity.
