CHICAGO — A moderate to briefly heavy intensity snowfall will blanket much of the Chicago area with 1 to 2-inches of wet snow during the commute  this Wednesday morning.

Most of the accumulation will be on grassy and frozen surfaces, however roads will become slushy in many areas, slowing traffic and creating some slippery/hazardous driving conditions.

Snowfall should let up by mid-morning with off and on snow showers expected the remainder of the daylight hours.

Allow extra time for travel this morning.
