Art Institute ushers in the holidays with ‘Wreathing of the Lions’

CHICAGO — A Michigan Avenue holiday tradition carried on with the 24th annual “Wreathing of the Lions” in front of the The Art Institute of Chicago Friday.

This morning’s ceremony kicks off a series of holiday themed events at the museum.

Visitors during the holiday season will be treated to a variety of music programs and special gallery tours.

Exhibits include the institute’s “Gifts to the City” selection of new loans and additions to its collection.

Holiday events will continue through Jan. 3.
