New ride share apps not without controversy

CHICAGO — The first ride-sharing program has been given permission to pick up arriving passengers at O’Hare and Midway airports.

Mayor Emanuel’s office says, Lyft cars will be allowed to serve the airports and McCormick place; Uber hopes to get the same permission very soon.

Cab drivers are outraged at the new competition; they say, ride-sharing companies don’t face the same inspection and licensing requirements as the more expensive taxis.
