WASHINGTON — Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson is dealing with some verbal gaffes involving the Constitution and one of the founding fathers.
In an interview with C-SPAN, Carson credited Thomas Jefferson with crafting the U.S. Constitution. However Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution.
In fact Carson correctly cited in his own book on the Constitution that Jefferson was serving as the ambassador to France at the time the document was written.
The comments comes a week after controversial comments in which Carson compared refugees to rabid dogs.
