CHICAGO -- Very cold start to the day with a deep snow cover and light winds – temps drop into the single digits to low teens with wind chills 0° to 10°.

As low pressure continues to pull away to the northeast, high pressure builds over the central plains/Ohio Valley.

With a snow cover reflecting the sunlight, temps struggle to warm into the mid/upper 20s.

West winds with occasional gusts to 20 mph.

Combination of winds and cold keep wind chill values in the teens during the afternoon.

Partly cloudy overnight.
