If you're a music fan, chances are you've crowded into the intimate Metro or Smart Bar to drink, dance and see your favorite bands.

Just north of Wrigley Field on Clark Street, The Metro has made its reputation of  finding "up and coming" performers,  many that have turned out to become music superstars.

This weekend, The Metro is celebrating an anniversary, appropriately, their 33 1/3 anniversary.

Chicago's very own Joe Shanahan started it all in 1982, first leasing out and later buying the 1927 Swedish Community Center.
