CHICAGO -- An emotional event in Chicago’s Loop Tuesday night marked the eve of not only Veterans Day but also the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the liberation of the concentration camps by the allies.
Survivors of the Holocaust stood side by side with some of the Americans who fought to set them free.
The liberators and the liberated gathered as a living, breathing history and a reminder to say thank you to the men and women of The Greatest Generation.
WGN’s Tom Negovan was there and spoke with those willing to share their stories.
