Jay Cutler sets Bears’ franchise record for TD passes

SAN DIEGO — Jay Cutler has etched his name into the record books for the Chicago Bears.

With his second-quarter strike to Martellus Bennett, Cutler set the Bears’ franchise mark for touchdown passes, with 138. He surpasses Sid Luckman.

Cutler, 32, began his career with the Denver Broncos before being traded to the Bears prior to the 2009 season. He has been to one Pro Bowl, in 2008.
