BEVERLY, Mass. — It was the last diagnosis Judy Brown expected when she went to the hospital with abdominal pain.

“I was feeling severe abdominal pain, it was getting worse. ”

Judy Brown, 47, called husband Jason, 48, for a quick ride to Beverly Hospital to have an exam done.

That’s when the doctor told her there was no blockage, she was just pregnant and going to have a baby — now.

8 pound Carolyn Rose arrived an hour later.

The couple, married 22 years, had no idea about the pregnancy.

Judy had felt different and just thought she was going through menopause. She also attributed her “tummy bulge” to becoming just like her mother.

“She said this is not normal weight gain, it was like hard. But we didn’t think anything of it,” Jason said.

It’s been a whirlwind, but Jason’s made one decision – he’s  thinking small  family.

“She will be an only child…yes,” Jason said.
