CHICAGO -- Police are still searching for the parents of a newborn baby found abandoned in the city's Ukrainian Village neighborhood.

The baby girl was discovered at 3 a.m. Tuesday in a stairwell at the Nazareth Family Health Center, a health clinic at 1127 North Oakley.

An employee coming in for her shift discovered the child wrapped in a blanket.  The child's umbilical cord was still attached.

The employee did not see anyone in the area and there's no word on how long the infant had been there.

The baby was taken down the block to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center then transferred to Lurie Children's Hospital.

She's in good condition.

There's no sign of the mother.
