LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Officials at the University of Louisville are apologizing after pictures surfaced of the school's president and staff wearing stereotypical Mexican costumes at a Halloween party.

The photos showed President James Ramsey in a multi-colored poncho and sombrero, next to a dozen other staffers.

The university started getting complaints after they were posted on a local newspaper's website.

University officials quickly apologized for the offensive pictures, saying, "we made a mistake and are very sorry."
