Train passenger robbed, Tased, thrown onto tracks in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA -- Transit authority police in the Philadelphia area released video of a robbery and assault in which a man was pushed onto the tracks.

Police say it started when a passenger fell asleep on a train.

A man and woman stole his backpack and made a run for it when the doors opened at the station in Millbourne.

He woke up and chased them off the train and a struggle followed.

The woman Tased him on the back and shoulder, then they pushed him onto the tracks.

He got up in a daze and fell on the electrified third rail.

Authorities say a thin cover on the rail insulated him from up about 700 volts of electricity.

He was hospitalized for concussions and other injuries and released.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects.
