Girl hospitalized after being struck, pinned under car

CHICAGO -- A 7-year-old girl and her father were hit while crossing the street, after two cars collided on the Chicago's northwest side.

It happened just after 7 p.m. Friday at Altgeld Street and Laramie Avenue.

The girl was pinned underneath one of the cars. Bystanders helped police lift the car off of her.

The girl was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Her father suffered a broken arm.

Police say both are going to be alright.

The drivers stayed on the scene. One of them was charged with failing to yield, but more charges may be coming.
