CHICAGO — Cubs fans are spending a lot of money on playoff tickets that turn out to be fake.

Crain’s Chicago Business reports the Cubs confiscated about 100 tickets yesterday. The tickets resemble the real thing, until they get scanned at the gate.

One obvious fake had a gray background, instead of white. But some fakes had less obvious giveaways on the back of the ticket, such as missing mlb logo watermarks.

The Better Business Bureau advises fans to buy from a licensed broker, instead of someone on the street.
