Police ask for help identifying woman killed by train in Elmhurst

ELMHURST – Elmhurst police are asking for help identifying a woman who was killed after she stepped in front of a Metra train.

It happened at about 3:30 yesterday afternoon.

A Union Pacific West train hit the woman east of the Elmhurst Metra station near First Avenue and Palmer Drive.

Police say the white woman was in her 60’s or early 70’s.  She had light hair, was wearing blue jogging pants and a white nightgown with a lace bow.

She was carrying a purse that only had a key on an orange ring and glasses.
