ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --  One man is dead and two women are injured in an overnight house fire in Arlington Heights.

Arlington Heights Fire Chief Ken Koeppen says a woman inside the house called 911 at about 2 a.m. saying her husband and her daughter were trapped inside her burning house in the 1600 block of West Waverly Court.

Police officers arrived on the scene and found the house on fire.

Firefighters arrived minutes later and extinguished the fire in about ten minutes. Koeppen says a man's body was found inside the home.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.   His name has not been released.

The daughter was found in the backyard of the home.  She and her mother were rushed to the hospital, one suffering from smoke inhalation, the other with unknown injuries.

Neighbors said that even though the family had lived in the neighborhood for many years, they mostly kept to themselves.

The state fire marshal was called in to investigate, but the fire chief says early indications are that the fire does not seem suspicious.
