CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A man got so drunk at a baseball game, that he passed out in the stadium. He woke up alone in a stairwell.

He was about to leave, when he saw an open door. Inside was the mascot costume for Homer The Dragon.

So of course he took it, put it on, and met his buddy at a bar.

Homer The Dragon had a fun time. He danced, made friends, and got three women's phone numbers.

But the party ended when police officers revealed Homer was a guy with an awesome mullet named Joe Gillespie.

Gillespie says he was just borrowing Homer and meant to return it. He also says this was one of the top three nights of his life.

Gillespie was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana, WSOC-TV reports.
