CHICAGO -- Mayor Emanuel and Police Supt. Garry McCarthy reacted angrily Tuesday over the latest explosion in deadly gun violence in Chicago.

"I'm gonna try to control my anger. We have way too many guns on the streets of the City of Chicago, with too little values, and the penalties that don't match the values of the City of Chicago," said Emanuel on Tuesday.

The mayor called for tougher gun laws and penalties.

McCarthy pointed out Chicago pulls more illegal guns off the streets than any major city, seven times more than New York City.
