NIU student killed after apparent fall from 11th-floor dorm window: officials

DEKALB, Ill. — An autopsy is scheduled today for a Northern Illinois University student who was apparently killed in a fall from an 11th-floor dorm window.

The school said it happened Saturday night after the student removed the window screen from his dorm room in Stevenson towers, and apparently fell from the window.

DeKalb County Coroner tells the Daily Chronicle in DeKalb County the student was identified as 19-year-old Oluwarotimi “Timi” Okedina.

He was taken to Kishwaukee Hospital but he died from his injuries a short time later.

According to NIU’s website, Stevenson Towers is on the western edge of the campus and consists of four 12-story towers
