CHICAGO — The Chicago Bears have reportedly agreed to trade defensive end Jared Allen to the Carolina Panthers.

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports tweeted the news Monday afternoon. It is not yet known exactly who or what the Bears will get in return, but Glazer said the Panthers will send a future draft pick to Chicago.

Glazer also notes Allen was thought not to be a great fit in the Bears’ defensive scheme, and the Panthers sought the multiple Pro Bowler as a solid pass rusher.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter also confirmed the news a short time later.

Allen, 33, is a five-time Pro Bowler. He spent the first 10 years of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings before joining the Bears in the 2014 season.
